The Future of Grocery Stores

There’s a grocery store in Europe that makes our little ’self-checkout’ lines look obsolete already.  In Germany, there’s a grocery store that you take your cell phone, scan the items with it that you put in your shopping cart and then when you get to the check out, your cell phone will display a bar code for everything you scanned total, the check out person scans that and you pay and out you go.

So it looks like we’re not only looking at advances in grocery shopping but also in cell phones.  At the check out, once you scan the payment bar code, you can pay by cash, credit card, debit card or fingerprint (after you have signed up for fingerprint shopping).  And the politicians wonder why we are falling behind the rest of the world where technology is concerned.

Little Old Men In Their Little Sports Cars

I’m sorry but I think there is nothing as silly looking as an old man driving a sports car.  The weather was wonderful today, and while I was driving home from running errands I saw an old man driving a convertible sports car with the top down.  I wanted to shout at him “You look so silly, old man!”

But, that would be very rude of me!  So I just shook my head and kept quiet!

Whenever I see an old man driving a sports car like that, it makes me think that he is trying desperately to feel young and sexy once again.  I guess there is nothing wrong with that, but I think it makes them look desperate and sad.  Like old women in mini-skirts and plunging necklines look desperate and sad!

Hopefully a Decent Book “The Pirate Wench”

I was surfing the net today and landed at Roguesandromance.blogspot.com where I found a post that was discussing a new book by the name of “The Pirate Wench” authored by Melinda Barron. After taking a look at the description of the book I knew instantly that I had to order it right away. The cost was only $5.95 and they accepted payment through Pay Pal, which is great for me, I had the whole ordering process done in less than 3 minutes, beats the hell out of taking a trip to the bookstore, now doesn’t it.

One of my favorite things is taking a nice hot bubble bath and soaking these old bones while reading a good book. I’m so happy to find this site and it looks like they have several more books that I am excited to see, so I am bookmarking this site for future purchases and some interesting information also.

Frogs Are Every Where

Years ago I must have expressed out loud in front of someone, somewhere, something about the cuteness of a frog lawn ornament, that had caught my eye, for some reason. I didn’t even buy the frog, but some how that was to be the start of the many, many frogs that have now seemingly taken over my house and lawn. Word got out and frogs are a constant, but welcomed gesture from folks, as a gift, a token, a present, a tip (after all, I am a bar tender, and we receive quite a variety of tips now and then) from virtually everywhere from all types of people that I have/had a relationship with over the years. I must have a frog made out of any and every type of material that is known to man, in all kinds of sizes, and stances.

For Christmas I was given a frog aquarium kit, which requires a check to be sent in with the order for the frogs to come in the mail, or I could go down to one of the many pet stores that have popped up all over the place in the past few years. I’m sure at least one will have baby frogs for sale, it seems like the more humane way to receive new members of the family. But going to the pet stores, any of them like PetCo, Puppy Palace, and Petsmart always leaves me with me wallet emptied out and my heart broken from not being able to take home more of the critters that are all there, just waiting for a home, and knowing that their chances of being purchased and treated adequately highly reduces most of their survival rates.

One of the places that I try not to go in to are the A.S.P.C.A. and Animal Shelters, I have never left one yet with out crying like a baby and feeling like a piece of scum, and dirty. Not something that I enjoy or look forward to doing, ever.

Allergy Shots

Published by under Uncategorized

My ex usually takes the youngest to her allergy doctor once a week to get her allergy shots that she has been getting for about three years now, but he got tied up at work and made a frantic call to me asking if I would take his place at the doctor’s office this afternoon. Since I had no immediate plans scheduled I assured him that it would be taken care of and not to worry that I had it all under control, and I did just that. It’s no big deal, the doctor’s office is right across the street, we just walked on over and took care of business and came straight home in less than 40 minutes time.
