I should have pulled over immediately when I noticed that my engine was running hot. But since there was no safe place to pull over and I had my daughter and her new puppy with me I wanted to make sure that we had some shade, cell phone reception and a bathroom I decided that I would just keep on going to the dog park that was only a few more miles down the road. It’s too bad that my van wasn’t happy with that decision, although it did get us into the dog park’s drive way, just shy of a legal parking space.

As soon as I pulled into the drive way we heard and felt a big BANG from under the hood, while watching very hot water and steam spewing all over in various directions. It’s just a darned good thing that my brother-in-law was home and that he was able to hook up his new towing trailer up to his pick up in a timely fashion and get to us before it started getting dark.

So now I am stuck with no transportation, my van is sitting in a shop waiting to be given an estimate so I’ll know if I need to sell my first born in order to pay for it to be road worthy once again. It sucks to be me today.

Why is it that when you think about someone you usually end up seeing them or hearing from them!?  I have been thinking about one of my girlfriends the past couple of weeks on and off.  Then today out of the blue I get a call from her.  That may not seem all that strange, but the thing is we haven’t talked in about 3 years.  She moved out of state, is married and has three kids so her free time is limited.  I usually work late at night so we are on totally different schedules, so emails are going to have to be the way to go these days, instead of long distance phone calls.

I have had the opportunity to spend a good portion of my life on the many waters around this part of the country and have seen too many close calls and accidents that have happened, and the majority of the operators could plainly been seen drinking some type of alcoholic beverage, with beer being the number one choice. Drinking alcohol and then driving anything can and has caused serious incidents and the number of people doing this is growing larger every year it seems. It wouldn’t surprise me to see in that in the not to near future that some type of permit may be necessary to operate all of the different types of boats.

As much as I have some strong opinions about Big Brother and all, I am starting to think that licensing for this serious issue might be a good idea. Of course I’d have to see all that it could require and all that. Something to check into online sometime in the near future.

T’was the night before Christmas, and all through the pad, There was nada happenin’, now thats pretty bad.The woodstove was hung up in that stocking routine, In hopes that the Fat Boy would soon make the scene.With our stomachs packed with tacos and beer, My girl and I crashed on the couch for some cheer. When out in the yard there arose such a racket, I ran for the door and pulled on my jacket. I saw a large bro’ on a ’56 PanWearin’ black leathers, a cap, and boots (cool biker, man). He hauled up the bars on that bikeful of sacks, And that Pan hit the roof like it was running on tracks. I couldn’t help gawking, the old guy had class. But I had to go in — I was freezing my ass. Down through the stovepipe he fell with a crash, And out of the stove he came dragging his stash .With a smile and some glee he passed out the loot, A new jacket for her and some parts for my scoot. He patted her fanny and shook my right hand,

I hate to hear and see on the news about today’s pirates, they really have taken pirating to an embarrassing new height with technology and all that it and other new tactics, have to offer these guys.

Today a story was release about a group of Somali pirates demanding $25 million from the Saudi owners of three small ships anchored some where off the Haradhere, Somalia coast. One of the ships is holding crude oil that is being know being the “big prize”, and the pirates have all ready collected $4 million so far!

I wouldn’t want to be on the “high seas” in this day and age, a whole totally different kind of game is being played here, with all of the new technology that anyone can get their hands on and use to their advantage, and we are living in the age of nuclear access, wish scares the *%&$@# out of me!
