I was surfing the net today and found a web-site that goes by, roguesandromance.blogspot.com where I found a post that was discussing a new book by the name of “The Pirate Wench”, which authored by Melinda Barron. After taking a look at the description of the book I knew instantly that I had to order it right away. The cost was only $5.95 and they accepted payment through Pay Pal, which is great for me, I had the whole ordering process done in less than 3 minutes, beats the hell out of taking a trip to the bookstore, now doesn’t it.

One of my favorite things is taking a nice hot bubble bath and soaking these old bones while reading a good book. I’m so happy to find this site and it looks like they have several more books that I am excited to see, so I am bookmarking this site for future purchases and some interesting information also.

I picked up a book titled The Templar Legacy, by Steve Berry, a few weeks ago, it came home with me in a box flowing over with books that were being given away at one of my doctor’s office waiting room, the only good thing that came out of the doctor’s office. I found myself having a hard time reading it for several days and when I reached page 200, out of a 500 page book, and I still wasn’t enjoying the story I almost put the book down for good, and then decided to give it one more try. I just wasn’t getting into the story or the characters, it was proving to be a chore just reading the darn thing.Well I finally finished it, and it wasn’t until around the last fifty pages that I actually looked forward to reading the story. I’m glad that I did finish it though, the ending did explain a whole lot and gave me some things to think about and has made me want to do a bit of research on some issues that were talked about that I am now curious about. I love it when a book does that to me, gets me interested in some off the wall subject that normally I wouldn’t give a second thought about.

I do the majority of my grocery shopping at our local Food Lion, they seem to have the cheapest prices for the items that I buy regularaly. There is a few things that I can’t seem to get Food Lion to carry for me, so once in a while I will need to make a side trip to either Martins (owned by Giant and very expensive) or go to Wal-Mart, ugh, I’m not a big Wal-Mart fan and dread having to go there.

I have seen for the past month or so that Food Lion has a huge bin over flowing with brand new books at a discounted price and as much as I love to read, it takes a huge discount for me to purchase any book. I get most of my reading material from places that give them away or go to the used book store to find my bargains. The price of a brand new book is totally outrageous, I can’t even remember the last time I bought a book at full retail price.

But back to Food Lion’s book offering, today I had to make a mid week grocery run and I noticed that the book bin was almost empty, and they had a sign stating that the remaining books were being sold for 75% off of the already discounted price. With that being said, I stopped and took a look to see what was left over and was glad to find two new hard covered books that needed to come home with me and only paid $1.50 for each one, and I’m pleased with my purchase and will go back again on Friday and take another look see.

My passion for reading has been with me all of my life, although it take a back seat for several years after giving birth to my daughter, 12 years ago. Now that I am on my own once again, my ex has custody, for the time being, I have been excited about given more time on my hands in order to start some serious reading once again.

I have been a “Parrot Head” since way back and have always enjoyed the tropical type music that he is so well known for producing and I have heard that he has written some books lately, but have never seemed to be able to come upon any of his books until just recently.

So I was thrilled to find one of his books called “A Salty Piece of Land” at my favorite used book store, and for only $2 and I’ve really enjoyed the reading of it this past week. I’m glad that inside of the book it tells me the names of his other books that I will need to see if I can find at a good bargain also. I’m especially interesting in finding the one entitled “A Pirate Looks At Fifty”, if I can’t find it locally then I guess I could always look on-line and see if I can find it somewhere out there in cyber-world, for cheap.
