He was looking at swimming pool liners back last summer and but actually purchased a new pool cover so he is excited at the prospect of enjoying all that having a swimming pool in your back yard has to offer. His close friends, family and neighbors are looking forward to it as well, I can tell you that.

I have a feeling that we are going to pay dearly for having such a mild winter by having an extremely hot summer, so having a neighbor with a pool might possibly be one of the ways to help beat the heat that we are in store for real soon here.

So I’m looking out for a good mattress sale and of course I’m only looking online since I have no intention of running all over town to all of the various bed and mattress stores that our town has to offer. Something else that I liked about this site is that that have a Mattress Advisor tool for us to put in our preferences then they will in turn generate suggestions for your individual needs and wants.  A nice touch I have to admit.

With one of the gift cards that I received for Christmas I plan on using just for that purpose. I’ve found a great site with a great variety of house address plaques that are appealing to me and my taste for around here. My current one has seen better days and I don’t want to take any chances when it comes to emergencies for me and my family that live here. And since my dad seems to think that we don’t need any help, it is up to me to make sure lose ends such as these are neatly tied up and in place here these days.

My husband recently got a new job and there is quite a bit of travel involved with it. He is out of town at least two weeks every month and sometimes more than that. I am glad that he got the new job because it pays more and we have better insurance. Sometimes I get to travel with him too and I really like to do that when he has to travel near the beach. However, when I am home alone for a few weeks at a time, I get a little nervous. I do not feel as safe when he is not there. Every time I hear a creak or bump at night I get worried that someone might be in the house. I even jump when I hear the ice maker start making ice. He and I both would feel more comfortable knowing that the security system is activated when I am home alone. Although I would rather just have my husband at home, I am glad that I will feel safer when he is gone.

I’ve been finding seed and plant catalogues in the mailbox lately and I’m enjoying looking at all of the varieties of plants, trees, bushes, flowers and shrubs that you can order these days. I can’t wait to order flowers for my new window box planters which I bought at the end of the season last deal. Man did I get a sweat deal on those babies. My mother used to have some of the most beautiful window boxes that she always took such pride in. So I’ve always wanted to give them a try and now that time has come. I just hope I can do them justice by looking even half as good as my mother’s did. I’m excited.

Now don’t get me wrong, I have a lot of stuff and I certainly could use a good down sizing. I’ve been wanting to gather up a good amount of stuff and have a yard sale for a few years, but yard sales are so much work that just the thought of holding one gets my stomach all in knots. I think what I really should do is to call a Houston Junk removal company and have them come and just take it all away in one full swoop. That way I don’t have to sort, fix, clean up, display, price and deal with nasty and rude customers for two days straight. And then when all is said and done there is always stuff left over that you have to deal with. What a pain.

Our next door neighbors were the best neighbors that I have ever had the pleasure of having and knowing. They had an awesome swimming pool in there backyard that we spent a lot of time enjoying during the warm and hot weather months. One thing about using some one else’s pool is that you don’t have to deal with any of the up keep that goes along with a pool. They had to provide the pool filters and pool chemicals and all of the other pool supplies that are necessary to keep a pool safe, clean and fun, while we just got to enjoy all that a pool offers people that love water. I really miss them and their pool.

One of the greatest things that happened when my husband and I recently moved into our new house is that we switched our television providers. Up until then we’d been cable television subscribers, because that’s what both of our parents had always used. We were looking around at our options for television in the new house and we discovered directstartv.com. We’ve been spending date nights in and ordering movies, and we love to curl up on the couch and watch our shows on DVR. It will be a good day to stay by the blazing fireplace that I just started a nice fire in and watch all the football games that are being aired today. I have a good sized flat screen T.V. that makes watching the games so much more enjoyable.

What a cold and nasty Saturday, and the bad news is that tomorrow is supposed to be worse, oh what a wonderful Monday that will be.

I didn’t brave the Black Friday shopping frenzy, that isn’t something that I’m into at all. Just thinking about the whole horrible process involved in that event makes my stomach uneasy and gives me a head ache.

This year, now that I know how much I have to play with, most of my shopping will be done online. This is something that a good amount of people are doing and I intend to be one of the statistics for this year. No crowds, no parking issues, no rude sale associates, no lines, no freezing my buns off outside and sweating to death inside all the stores and no holiday music being drummed into my head that is being played in every store in the country.
