Last time we were in New Orleans we came across an older lady on the sidewalk in front of Jackson Square, with a lap table and deck of tarot cards. And I guess for the male gender as well, I certainly can’t leave that whole species out of the situation. I have always been a plus size and most likely will be for the remainder of my life. I’ve dieted, worked out, taken all kinds of wait loss products and have realized that it just is what it is!

I think society has been more tolerant towards the male population and their weight and body style issues, since it has always been acceptable for the man to get married and put on the weight from his new brides cooking and of course her sweet love. But women are pretty much been expected to maintain a low weight and a certain body weight no matter what she endures in her life and her various life style choices that women find themselves in.

I’d like to see even more plus size clothing in the stores, but I’m just glad to see that things are really progressing as well as more people taking their weight and health issues seriously.

She is so good with kids, rightfully so since she works at the local pediatricians office, the same one that I take my daughter to when needed. She always seems to be in a cheerful mood and makes all the kids that come to that office feel so much better about coming to what they must consider a very scary place.

I love that our medical professionals are now wearing such colorful and cool “medical uniforms” instead of the old fashioned starch white and very sterile looking white uniforms of days gone by. Beth always seems to find the best of the nursing uniforms scrubs to wear that really make a difference in the way that all of these kids see her during their time of need that brought them into there to her and the doctor.

So I have decided to try and find her something in that line to give to her for Christmas this year. I found a cool site at http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/ that I’m exploring and I thought that I would pass the link along to others here today.

I hate that. I think most people think the same way. Yet the retailers persist in putting the Christmas things out too early in the season.

That’s probably a good indication of why retail is losing their asses and have been in trouble for the past several years. They don’t listen to what the general public thinks or wants.

I like to shop at Sam’s Club because most of the items in the discount warehouse are a good price. But you can’t count on finding the size and color that you want. You can’t count on the same thing being there next time you go to get it. You can’t check out quickly with just a few items in the basket – there are no express lanes. And you can’t use a VISA card to pay for your purchases.

But I found a nice little daily calendar for under $10 that would be a great Christmas gift for my mother, so I bought it. So I have reluctantly but officially begun my Christmas shopping for this year.

It was a beautiful day out today and she asked if we could go to the park/playground that we used to go to all the time back when she was much younger and really enjoyed playing on the playground equipment there. But has been several years since she has shown any interest in going there with me. For that matter she hasn’t really wanted to go any where with me, sigh. . .

Of course I jumped at the chance to go out and enjoy the nice weather day, there will not be that many more I fear. What I didn’t expect was to see all the changes that they have made to this particular park. They have replaced the old playground equipment with all new equipment. They even replaced the old Park Benches and the Picnic Tables that always seemed to give us a splinter or two each time we sat at them. They even put in a drinking water fountain and redid and cleaned up the restrooms. Now how cool is that? It’s about time that my tax dollars where spent on something that I approve of!

She is such a shy one and she is very nervous about the whole thing, I wish I could go with her and make sure everyone is nice to her, I’m sure their are millions of mothers (and fathers) who feel the same way. Kids can be so incredibly cruel and I just hate thinking of anyone being mean and/or nasty towards her in any way. This is one wonderful little girl and is full of such goodness and humanity, she has the soul of an old Native American woman and deserves nothing but the best!

I’m so glad to say that it isn’t a joke at all, she is really coming back home after all these years.

She tells me that her hubby finally got the transfer that he had been after in order to get them back to the United States, closer to family and friends because the next good piece of news is that she is pregnant with their first child. Funny how when we find ourselves far from home and a baby comes into the picture how that makes us want and need to get back to our roots. This is just too good to be true and I shot her back a quick reply telling her how happy I am about the news and I can’t wait to see her and her cute little baby bump, and meet her hubby as well of course!

She has to take it easy with all of the packing and moving since she is in her 2nd trimester of her pregnancy and all. Her hubby is going to do a lot of the heavy lifting and all that of course. Her main concern right now is finding the right Virginia International Movers to get them and all of their belongings safely back to the good old U.S. of A. The Internet is going to be her best bet  and the best tool in finding Virginia Moving Companies that will do the job for them. Can you imagine trying to find Virginia Movers without the Internet when you are totally in another country, no way dude! I’m just glad that where she has been living in South America has electricity and the means to have Internet access because from the pictures that I’ve seen throughout the years that she has sent me, it looks pretty remote and it doesn’t look like there is a heck of a lot of modern conveniences that we have all gotten so used to and rely on on a daily basis. And don’t get me started on the subject of modern doctors!

This is going to be so cool!

Funny to think that I didn’t use the Internet for anything to do with that memorable event and funnier that I can’t imagine planning a wedding without the use of the Internet. One of the servers that I have worked with for several years now, Heidi is getting married and since the of rest of her family lives on the other side of the country, she has asked me for help. There is a lot to planning a wedding, so I couldn’t say no to her, but I know that it is going to take up a lot of my time and I’m sure I’ll be experiencing several headaches throughout the whole process. She is a good gal, a good worker and she deserves to be married and live happily ever after!

I’ve all ready started looking at wedding invitations to show her that I’ve found online. We have a computer at work that we are allowed to use if we aren’t busy and believe me there are times that it is just a bar room filled with old smokey, dead air. But as soon as we get involved in something, someone is bound to come in and we have to turn our full attention to the customer, no matter what. I have to fess up, there have been times that it has been so dead in there that I’ve purposely gone to the computer, logged on and started checking into something just so some one would come in, and it has worked 9 times out of 10.
So it is a good thing that we both have computers at home that we can email each other and send links to check out, which has been working out real well. I just received a new link from her concerning discount wedding invitations that she came up with, I don’t know how I missed this one. They appear to have some pretty good selections at invitationstyles.com. It’s a good thing that the wedding isn’t until next year because I have a feeling it is going take all of that time in getting everything picked out and ordered.
It’s going to be wonderful and I’m going to do everything in my power to make it the best ever!

It’s just too bad that no one who participated in this survey gave the same answer, because I would have loved to seen her win with that answer, she would have deserved it as far as I’m concerned.

I never used to watch anything on TLC but then my TV started having issues with so many channels that I was limited to just a few of the higher channels for a while. Most of the channels that I usually watched were in the lower channels, like 36 and under. So when I could only get 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, 63 and sometimes 70 it put a real cramp in my TV viewing routine.

But with anything else, it is all on what you get used to and after while I started getting into the only programs that were being made available to me. The Cake Boss, 19 Kids and Counting,My Strange Addiction, DC Cupcakes, Extreme Couponing, LA Ink,Freaky Eaters, Hoarding: Burried Alive, Sister Wives and my newest one discovery My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding are all on TLC along with Say Yes To The Dress. That’s a lot of shows on one channel from my experiences.

Along with TLC there is MTV, VH1, E and MSNBC, BET and The Animal Planet which have all been getting a lot of my attention these past months. Sometimes change is good, at least in this case it was.
