Today’s Important Credit Scores

I would really like to know who is responsible for having 3 different and very separate credit reporting agencies to deal with. I mean isn’t it bad enough to have to deal with all these credit issues that have become so important to our daily lives and then they go and make you jump through all the hoops with 3 agencies! I have been so very lucky with my credit score, it isn’t the best numbers but at least they are high enough to allow me to borrow money when and if I really need it. Too bad I can’t say the same thing for my ex husband, who has allowed his credit to deteriorate so much that if he needed to borrow some cash, the interest rate would eat him up alive.

Right now I am interested in obtaining a free credit score so that I can make sure that my numbers are still decent. With Christmas coming up I will most likely need to get my hands on some cash in order to make sure that our daughter has at least a half way decent holiday season, since I know my ex won’t be able to do much for us this year. I’ve heard good things about Freescore.com and am going to take some time tomorrow and see what it is really all about. I’m hoping that there are not any catches or hidden fees that will come back and bite me in the rear. One can’t be too careful these days, right?

Family Bar B Q

Even though I am divorced from my daughter’s father and he doesn’t have much to do with or for our daughter we are still pretty close with most of his family, although we don’t see them often enough. We received an invitation to a surprise birthday party bar b q to be held for my ex sister-in-law’s 50th birthday, which I had to turn down because of my work schedule, which was a total bummer for my daughter. But lo and behold at the last minute my manager found someone to take my place behind the bar so we were able to attend after all. So not only was my ex sister-in-law surprised but the whole family was shocked to see us as well.

It was the perfect day for a bar b q, instead of the horrific heat and humidity that we have been dealing with for most of the summer, today it was only in the 80′s with a nice cool breeze. So the weather was good, the food was good and the people were perfectly behaved, my daughter got to reconnect with some of her extended family, so it was a good day all the way around!

When He Was Sweet

Sometimes I miss the old days of romance and courting with my first husband. He could be very sweet when he wanted to – or when he wanted something. I always got an armful of gifts on the holidays, especially on Valentine’s Day.The candy and roses and mushy card from Hallmark made me feel so special – even if only for the day. I miss that.

Jimmy Buffett – The Author

My passion for reading has been with me all of my life, although it take a back seat for several years after giving birth to my daughter, 12 years ago. Now that I am on my own once again, my ex has custody, for the time being, I have been excited about given more time on my hands in order to start some serious reading once again.

I have been a “Parrot Head” since way back and have always enjoyed the tropical type music that he is so well known for producing and I have heard that he has written some books lately, but have never seemed to be able to come upon any of his books until just recently.

So I was thrilled to find one of his books called “A Salty Piece of Land” at my favorite used book store, and for only $2 and I’ve really enjoyed the reading of it this past week. I’m glad that inside of the book it tells me the names of his other books that I will need to see if I can find at a good bargain also. I’m especially interesting in finding the one entitled “A Pirate Looks At Fifty”, if I can’t find it locally then I guess I could always look on-line and see if I can find it somewhere out there in cyber-world, for cheap.

Only two days left until Uncle Sam gets his $$$

I happen to be one of those people that postpones the inevitable by waiting until the last moment in filing my taxes and the calendar is telling me that I have only 2 more days left of holding on to my hard earned money, before handing it over to good old Uncle Sam.

Now if I was to be deserving enough to receive a refund, you can bet your bottom dollar that I would be the first in line at the Post Office mailing in all the necessary paperwork that is demanded of all U.S. taxpayers every year in an effort to get something out of the whole deal.

But I have been having to pay into the system each year, since becoming legally divorced and giving custody to my ex of our 12 year old daughter, I like to hold onto and use my money for as long as I possibly can. So come the 15th I’ll be there in line with all of the other late comers, but I’m sure I’ll be in good company!
