One of the things that were being discussed at today’s bar b que was the issue of house plaques, or the lack of them. These days it is so important to have your address numbers placed in a place that they can be easily seen and read. It seems that one of the neighbors in the neighborhood of the bar b que had recently called 911 for a medical emergency in the house and it took the emergency ambulance a longer time than usual and they almost didn’t make it in time to help this particular elderly lady in medical distress stay on this earth.
This emergency happened during the evening and the address plaques that were placed on many of these houses in this particular area of the neighborhood were very hard for the EMTs to locate and read, which could have ended in a major catastrophe for this woman. So the talk of the neighborhood these days is all about finding the perfect address plaques to replace the old faded worn out ones that have seen better days in an effort to keep all of the residents safe in any type of emergency situation.
This is something that we all need to think about. An important issue that I think needs more attention drawn to. So I’m doing my part by posting this story and passing on how important it is to have what it takes to allow the police, the fire department and/or the ambulances to locate your property and home with ease, because in case of an emergency, as we all know, every minute, every second can make a big difference and possibly save a life.

I love that I get the opportunity to meet so many people and learn so many interesting things while tending the bar. I hear some of the craziest stories and see some pretty outrageous photographs that my customers bring in to share with us. I have meet a few celebrities and other well known people along the way that I have always enjoyed waiting on and talking with when possible. There just isn’t a certain or particular type of person that frequents the place so I never know what I’m going to get into when I walk into te place.
Last night was a slow night, if it wasn’t for a few regulars that are good tippers, it could have been a disaster. So to pass the time I listened in to a few discussions that I normally wouldn’t have bothered with, but I was getting too bored not too. One of my good customers has started getting into Online Trading, which I don’t know diddly squat about, so I was all ears. I’ve never had a job that offered any type of IRA Accounts or any other kind Stock Options and probably never will, but that doesn’t have to stop me from getting into Stock Trading with one of today’s Online Broker. So we made a pact last night, when he gets it all together and has all that he needs to help himself then I will turn to him for my ETFs or Mutual Funds or whatever we think would be best for my wants and needs.
Let’s face it folks, a lot of it is who you know and who you are related to, since I don’t have a very large family it looks like I will continue to rely on who I know.

I try not to have too many things, if I can get away with it, sent to my all ready over flowing email inbox. But a customer of mine has telling me about an interesting, entertaining and educational web site called The Online Slang Dictionary where each day they will email you a slang “Word of the Day” so far I have all ready known most of the words, but it is still pretty cool and once in a while a new one will pop up for me to learn and then try and use.
Today’s word I had never heard of, kerfuffle, a noun - with the definition listed as: a minor fight, a spat, or a commotion. What a silly looking and sillier sounding word, but I have tucked this knowledge away and plan on using it when I can, which is what I’ve been doing with all the words that I’ve picked up from this online dictionary. If you want to see what it is all about you can go to their site of onlineslangdictionary.com, live and learn, right?

To just blindly gather up what little bit of unused, broken, unwanted and not longer needed gold pieces and place them in an envelope to be shipped to God knows where, to God knows who and expect to receive a fist full of dollars is just too totally whacked out. I’m surprised we haven’t heard more stories on the evening news about people getting ripped off enough to were there was call for action by someone, some where, like the “7 On Your Side” The infamous News Reporting Team that can make or brake a company with their online investigating skills.
Anyway,s before I would trust anyone with any of my gold I would certainly go online and find the day’s current price of gold, not trusting a soul, even if he is behind the counter of some fancy schmancy jewelry store. Knowledge is power and I like to be well armed thank you very much. There are websites that you can find all the information that you could possibly want or need to know about gold, including the most current gold prices, my favorite, no question about it, being goldcoinsgain.com.
Gold is a big deal these past couple of years. With people speaking of spot gold, gold IRA’s, gold spot, gold bullion and stuff like that more and more, it is nice to have a good reference in which you can turn to for more things then just the day’s gold price. They even have an interesting couple of paragraphs that hold the History of Gold which I’d urge anyone to read, I’m sure you would be surprised and entertained and quite possibly learn something with some of things that they have to say. It’s at the bottom of their home page, check it out for a quick moment.

Why is it that when you think about someone you usually end up seeing them or hearing from them!? I have been thinking about one of my girlfriends the past couple of weeks on and off. Then today out of the blue I get a call from her. That may not seem all that strange, but the thing is we haven’t talked in about 3 years. She moved out of state, is married and has three kids so her free time is limited. I usually work late at night so we are on totally different schedules, so emails are going to have to be the way to go these days, instead of long distance phone calls.
