Multi Talented Family

When the good lord was handing out creativity to my friends and family, I must have been in the bathroom or hiding behind a door or possibly taking a smoke break away from everyone. I can’t think of a single family member that doesn’t play at least one musical instrument, or can sing. And I’m the only one in the whole family that can’t draw anything more than a stick figure when putting pen to paper. As far as writing goes, this blog is about the only thing that I can seem to write and I’m sure that if any English teachers are out there reading this that they are shaking their heads seeing my bad grammar and horrid spelling, thank goodness for spell check!

My father was multi talented, there wasn’t a musical instrument that he couldn’t play, he could sing and dance. His handwriting was perfect when he wrote his short stories by hand, back then we didn’t have computers and he didn’t own a typewriter for various reasons. He was such an artist that he made a good amount of his income by being a first class architect  who would have loved all that the Internet had to offer people like himself. When I run across sites such as Houzz.com I can’t help but think of my father and how much he would have enjoyed a site such as this one which has become a leading destination for folks who are considered “home design enthusiasts” where they can showcase their portfolios. There are well over 250,000 photographs at Houzz.com full of decorating ideas and some truly wonderful designs from all over the country that are just amazing to look at, I’m sure that my father would get off on something like that.

Solar Powered Cell Phones

Seems that Motorola has applied for a patent for a solar powered cellphone and although it will probably not be enough to fully recharge the phone it will help for those days when you just can not plug in to the wall.

I’m very interested to see just how good it works and how much it charges for I certainly would consider buying one when it I can hear a bit more about it and see if it really is worth getting into. Anything I can do in order to keep thing as GREEN as I can in my little world.

Paintball Wars

Talk about a rush! The paintball war games I participated in last week are so cool! They’ve changed quite a bit over the years since the first time I ever played. We were never that organized nor did we have the advantage today’s gamers have when it comes to paintball equipment. I found this fabulous paintball guns and accessories site and if you’ve ever wanted to try your luck at paintball then this is the perfect place to get your gear for the game!

I’ve decided to go with a complete new outfit myself, and since they offer what I think is the best in paintball guns, as well as other needed name brand paintball related gear, I’ve chosen one of several packages they have to offer, called the tippmann x7 package. It’s a great sniper version package that offers what I’m looking for in a paintball outfit. The best thing of all, besides that they’re the better prices, is that they offer totally FREE shipping! Now you just can’t beat that.

New Mattress

It was just a matter of time for my teen aged daughter to want a larger bed and mattress than she has been using all of her life. Lately she has been crawling in my bed with me at night, which is fine with me, I love having her by my side all night long, and since she has matured she no longer kicks and tosses about like she did when she was a wee one when I used to keep her in the bed between her father and me.

So I’m looking out for a good mattress sale and of course I’m only looking online since I have no intention of running all over town to all of the various bed and mattress stores that our town has to offer. A customer of mine suggested trying out coasttocoastmattress.com to see if they had any full sized mattress sale offerings, which I promptly did and was glad to see that they do have some good promotions going on right now, along with Free Delivery, which is a big money saver that I look for.

Something else that I liked about this site is that that have a Mattress Advisor tool for us to put in our preferences then they will in turn generate suggestions for your individual needs and wants.  A nice touch I have to admit.

Husband Travels

Thanks for the guest post by Jo Levy

My husband recently got a new job and there is quite a bit of travel involved with it. He is out of town at least two weeks every month and sometimes more than that. I am glad that he got the new job because it pays more and we have better insurance. Sometimes I get to travel with him too and I really like to do that when he has to travel near the beach. However, when I am home alone for a few weeks at a time, I get a little nervous. I do not feel as safe when he is not there. Every time I hear a creak or bump at night I get worried that someone might be in the house. I even jump when I hear the ice maker start making ice. We decided to go to HOMEsecurity101.com to find info on having a home security system installed. He and I both would feel more comfortable knowing that the security system is activated when I am home alone. Although I would rather just have my husband at home, I am glad that I will feel safer when he is gone.
